While the premium type smartphones and phablets are waiting for the Android 7.0 Nougat to be released on the market, the customers with medium range devices are not that excited when it comes to the new version of the OS. However, Samsung is thinking about these customers as much as they are thinking of the premium ones, and is bringing Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the Samsung Galaxy A5. We think that’s quite great news for users because the operating system comes packed with different features like Now on Tap.

However, Samsung is offering this update to select markets, so you might have to check the list to see if you’re getting the over-the-air (OTA) update from the company. SamMobile says: “Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is now rolling out for the Galaxy A5 (SM-A500FU) in several markets across Europe and has even been released in South Africa.”

The Samsung Galaxy A5 was released at its time with Android KitKat, the 4.4 version and was later updated to Android Lollipop. It’s nice to see that Samsung has thought about this device and updated it to Marshmallow, even though there have passed eight months since the OS has been on the market. The Korean tech giant is bringing not only Android Marshmallow (code A500FUXXU1CPG2) to the Galaxy A5, but also the security patch by Google.

If you have a Galaxy A5, you might wonder what other features rather than Now on Tap and a brand new security patch will you have. Well, if you have issues with battery life on your smartphone, you will be pleased to know that Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings out the Doze Mode which is set to optimize this part of your user experience. Other users have tested out this feature and find it subtle but worth it. The user interface TouchWiz has improved as well, along with boot security and application permissions for Google Play.

If you don’t come from an English-speaking nation and you want to have your phone in your native language, then you might be happy with Google’s attempt at including more dialects on the language options.
