The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is expected to be released this month, while Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus has hit the stores last year in September. Today we will compare these two handsets and let you decide which phablet is more advantageous.
The Galaxy Note 7 measures 153.5×73.9×7.9mm and weights 169 grams. It isn’t very different from its predecessor, as it has the same glass and metal design. The big change is the dual-edge display which will allow users to place app shortcuts on the sides. Also, the stylus has been improved and there’s a new iris scanner that will recognize user’s face and will unlock the device without entering a passcode or tapping the fingerprint reader. On the other hand, the iPhone 6s Plus is slimmer and heavier, as it measures 158.2×77.9×7.3mm and weights 192 grams. Its body is made entirely of aluminum, the back is slightly curved on the edges and has antenna lines at the top and bottom.
The Galaxy Note 7 comes with a super AMOLED display of 5.7-inch that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 518 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The iPhone 6s Plus has a smaller LED-backlit IPS LCD display of 5.5-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 401 ppi and it’s protected by an ion-strengthened glass.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The Galaxy Note 7 comes in two variants: one features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 2.15GHz and a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 1.6GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics card and 4GB of RAM and another one that has an Exynos 8890 chipset, a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz and a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.6GHz, a Mali-T880 MP12 graphics card and 4GB of RAM.
The iPhone 6s Plus comes with an Apple A9 chipset, a dual-core Twister CPU clocked at 1.84GHz, a PowerVR GT7600 graphics card and 2GB of RAM.
The Galaxy Note 7 has been released with an internal storage of 64GB, but don’t worry, because you will be able to expand it up to 256GB using a microSD card. The iPhone 6s Plus can be purchased with either 16GB, 64GB or 128GB internal storage, but it doesn’t feature a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
The Galaxy Note 7 sports a primary camera of 12MP that features OIS, LED flash, phase detection autofocus, touch focus, auto HDR, panorama, geo-tagging and a secondary camera of 5MP. The iPhone 6s Plus has a primary camera of 12MP that supports dual-LED flash, OIS, phase detection autofocus, geo-tagging, panorama, HDR and a secondary camera of 5MP.
Both devices feature non-removable batteries, but the Galaxy Note 7 has a much larger cell with a capacity of 3500 mAh, which outperforms the 2750 mAh battery that the iPhone 6s Plus comes with.
