Prisma is a photo-editing application that is using artificial intelligence and neutral network to transform the image into an artistic effect. The application has been developed by Alexey Moiseenkov and it has been released on June 11, 2016 for iOS. After just one week, the application has been downloaded over 7.5 million times and it has currently over 1 million active users.
It is good to know that a BETA version of Prisma has been released on July 19, 2016, but the developers had to close it a few hours later, because they have received enough feedback from its users. Finally, the application has been released for the public in the Google Play Store on July 24, 2016.
However, on July 25, 2016 many users have noticed that Prisma was offline, but the developer assured the users that it will be soon live. Also, according to reports, the application was working without any issues on iOS during that time. It’s not sure yet why the application was offline, but we don’t think that the cause was an overload of new users trying to modify their pictures.
Likewise n Instagram, users will just need to take a new photo or select one and apply a filter. Keep in mind that when you will use the application for the first time, it might take about 20 seconds to load a filter (depending on the internet connection). In order to lessen or increase the effect, you will need to slide your finger to the right or left and once you’re happy with the result, you will be able to share it to social media websites such as Facebook, (or save it to your smartphone) and keep it to yourself.
