Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is the return to survival horror which fans have been desperately wanted ever since the release of Resident Evil 5 in 2009. The series has been slowly moving away from the survival horror genre and had become more focused on the third person shooter genre instead.
During an interview with IGN, game director Koushi Nakanishi explained that the team has focused on horror for this game and that the teaser demo was created to tell fans that “it’s back”. The game will include the classic puzzle solving and resource management which have not been focused on during the last few games; combat has also been confirmed.
The demo that was displayed at E3 2016 was called Beginning Hour; this was the prologue to the main game and has attracted the attention of gamers everywhere. Fans have been asking for Resident Evil to return to it’s roots for a very long time and it looks like they’re requests have finally been answered.
Resident Evil 7 will be released January 24th 2017 and will be available through online and offline retailers.
