The Apple MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be released in September along with the iPhone 7. On the other hand, Samsung will release its Surface Pro 5 sometime in 2017. The MacBook Pro 2016 will come with the next generation Skylake processor, while the Surface Pro 5 will feature a Kaby Lake processor. According to reports, the Kaby Lake line of processors will be released at the end of 2016 and this is the reason why it is believed that the Surface Pro 5 will be launched a year later.
The Apple MacBook Pro 2016 will come in two display size variants of 13-inch and 15-inch that will support a resolution of 2304×1440 pixels. According to rumors, the MacBook Pro 2016 will be lighter and thinner when compared to the current MacBook device. On the other hand, the Surface Pro 5 will come with a 13-inch screen that will support a 3K or 4K resolution.
The physical function keys that are now found on the MacBook Pro device will be replaced by an OLED display touch bar. In addition, Apple has also ditched the headphone jack, as it did on the rumored iPhone 7. This could possibly mean that the devices that Apple will release this year will feature wireless capabilities.
The MacBook Pro 2016 will feature a Skylake processor that will support a higher processing speed when compared to the current processor found on the MacBook Pro device. The Surface Pro 5 will be powered by a Kaby Lake CPU which will surely outperform the current Skylake processor.
According to reports, the Kaby Lake processor comes with 4K video playback and improved 3D graphics. Microsoft has confirmed that the new processors will be released on January 15, 2016 and they will be supported by the new Windows 10 OS.
