While the Galaxy J2 2016 is a follow up of version of the first J2, but it comes with two new extraordinary features: Smart Glow and Turbo Speed Technology, the J Max is a giant smartphone with a 7-inch screen. Both devices have been officially released in India, where they’re priced at Rs 9750 and Rs 13400 respectively, but soon, they will hit the stores from all over the world.

The Galaxy J2 2016 measures 142.4 x 71.1 x 8 mm and has a curved plastic body available in black, silver and gold colors. Under the camera, the Samsung logo overlays a number of parallel lines that run all the way along the sides and merge with the frame, while the camera module is surrounded by a smart glow light (Smart Glow feature), which is an LED notification system. The rear camera has a resolution of 8MP and supports an aperture of f/2.2, offering standard features such as autofocus and LED flash, while the other camera is 5MP. On the front side is placed a 5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and 294 ppi and under the hood, you’ll find a Spreadtrum SC8830 chipset that’s powered by a quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A7 processor which is coupled with a Mali-400MP2 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM. The internal memory is not very generous, but its capacity of 8GB can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The battery is removable and has an average capacity of 2600mAh. The device comes pre-installed with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The Galaxy J Max is a monster that measures 186.9 x 108.8 x 8.7 mm and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Its body is made of plastic and has a fine texture that reminds us of the old Galaxy models, but it has a metal frame that gives it a premium look. Its screen has a diagonal of 7-inch and it supports a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels at 216 ppi, while the internal configuration is identical to that of the J2 2016. On the rear side, in the top middle, you’ll see the 8MP camera with an aperture of f/1.9 and which supports autofocus and LED flash, but its front camera doesn’t impress with its low resolution of 2MP. The battery is relatively large, of 4000mAh, but for now, we can’t tell you how much it can last.
