Sharing is caring!

The WhatsApp 2.16.183 has just been released for Android devices and it comes with some new features. First of all, the new version brings a new security feature, two-factor authentication, but it is NOT yet activated. In other words, you can’t use it yet, but the developers will enable it sometime in the near future.

The WhatsApp 2.16.183 APK file has been increased by 178KB and it has over 1319 modified files. The number of modified files is quite big, as the APK file comes with 3700 files. As we’ve told you above, a new feature has been added to the application, which is the new two-factor authentication security feature. Four new files related to this feature have been added and they are: fragment_two_factor_auth_email.xml, activity_two_factor.xml, settings_two_factor_auth.xml and fragment_two_factor_auth_code.xml.

For some reason, the developers didn’t confirm yet the upcoming Video Calling feature. Now there are many users who are asking if this feature will ever come to the WhatsApp application. However, let’s not forget that there are already some mobile messaging applications out there that have this feature. The developers of WhatsApp are somehow forced to bring this feature to the application or else, some of the users will ditch WhatsApp application for another application that allows them to make Video Calls.
