Asus Zenfone 3 ($250) and Huawei Honor 8 ($300 in China) are two new affordable smartphones that have a similar design, but their specs are totally different and below we’ll compare them.
The Asus Zenfone 3 measures 152.6×77.4×7.7mm and weights 155 grams. On the other hand, the Huawei Honor 8 is slightly slimmer and lighter as it measures 145.5x71x7.5mm and weights 153 grams. Both devices have a glass and metal design, but the Asus Zenfone 3 is available in colors such as Sapphire Black, Moonlight White and Shimmer Gold, while the Huawei Honor 8 comes in Pearl White, Sunrise Gold, Midnight Black, Sakura Pink or Sapphire Blue.
The Asus Zenfone 3 has a super IPS+ display of 5.5-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 401 ppi. The Huawei Honor 8 has a smaller IPS LCD display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 424 ppi. Both displays are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The Asus Zenfone 3 features a Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset, an octa-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 2.0GHz, an Adreno 506 graphics card and 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The Huawei Honor 8 has a HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.8GHz and a quad-core Cortex A72 CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics card and 3GB or 4GB of RAM.
Both devices have been released in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB which you can expand up to 256GB using a microSD card.
The Asus Zenfone 3 sports a primary camera of 16MP that features dual-LED flash, OIS, phase detection autofocus, geo-tagging, face detection, panorama, HDR, touch focus and a secondary camera of 8MP. The Huawei Honor 8 has a dual-primary camera of 12MP that features dual-LED flash, laser autofocus, geo-tagging, face detection, touch focus, panorama, HDR and a secondary camera of 8MP.
Both devices are powered by a non-removable battery of 3000 mAh.
