WhatsApp is one of the most downloaded and used applications on all smartphone platforms. Today we will talk about the latest WhatsApp version that has been released for Android devices and the changes that come with it.

WhatsApp 2.16.156 is the latest BETA version of this application that has been released for Android devices. The APK (installation) file as 28.71MB and it can be installed on smartphones that run on Android 2.1 and later. Unfortunately, this new version of WhatsApp doesn’t come with any new features, but instead it fixes some of the bugs that were found on the previous version and it also comes with other improvements.

We still don’t have any official news regarding the Video Calling feature that is rumored to be released for this application sometime in the near future. The developers of WhatsApp haven’t confirmed this feature yet, so it might take longer than expected until it will come to this popular application.

First of all, you will need to make sure that your device runs on Android 2.1 or later. After that, you will need to become a WhatsApp BETA Tester and this can be done by opening this webpage. Once the webpage loads, you will see a “BECOME A TESTER” button on which you will need to tap.

Then, you will need to open the Google Play Store, search for WhatsApp 2.16.156 and install it on your smartphone. When the installation is complete, use your mobile phone number to get verified and log into your WhatsApp account.

HINT: Keep in mind that this is a WhatsApp BETA version, which means that it can contain bugs and other errors which can be annoying.
