Pokemon Go is a free augmented-reality game, but Nintendo and Niantic have included microtransactions, allowing players to buy Pokecoins, which are gold coins that can be used to buy potions, Pokeballs and other special items. But, instead of spending money on Pokecoins, there are other ways to get the for free, and we’re here to tell you how to do it.

Pokemon Go was finally released on July 6 all over the world, being an augmented reality game that can be played on iOS and Android devices. Gamers are capturing, battling, training and trading virtual Pokemon that are located in the real world, and which they find using the Pokémon Go Plus. This wearable device can be purchased separately, costing $34.99, and after it connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth, whenever a Pokemon is nearby, it notifies users by vibrating and flashing LEDs.

As we told you above, the game is free, but you can buy different items with Pokecoins, and you will end up spending hundreds of dollars. But, why would you do that, when you can earn Pokecoins by fulfilling simple tasks! So, one of the easiest ways to get Pokecoins is to have a gym where your team is training and one of your Pokemon is defending it. After your Pokemon finishes his job as a guardian, you will earn a “defender bonus”, which amounts to 10 Pokecoins per day. If you have ten Pokemon defending ten gyms at a time, at the end of the day, you’ll have 100 Pokecoins in your pocket.

The game will roll out worldwide and things might change on the way, but most likely, there will be other opportunities to earn Pokecoins. Until then, you will spend $0.99 to buy 100 Pokecoins, $4.99 for 550 Pokecoins, $9.99 for 1,200 Pokecoins, $19.99 for 2,500 Pokecoins, $39.99 for 5,200 Pokecoins and $99.99 for 14,500 Pokecoins.
