HTC 10 is the latest flagship released by the Taiwanese company in May, while the Sony Xperia E5 is a mid-range smartphone that arrived in June. Today, we’ll compare these two devices and based on your preferences, you’ll choose your favorite.

Designs

The HTC 10 measures 145.9×71.9x9mm and weights 161 grams. HTC went with the same aluminum body, but it made a few adjustments. For example, the edges are no longer curved, but chamfered, and on the front side, under the screen is a new home button with a fingerprint scanner embedded into it. On the other hand, the Sony Xperia E5 is slimmer and lighter, as it measures 144x69x8.2mm and weights 147 grams, and its back is made of a textured rubberized plastic.



Displays

The HTC 10 has a super LCD5 display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 565 ppi. The Sony Xperia E5 has a smaller IPS display of 5-inch that supports a lower resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 294 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The HTC 10 features a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset, a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 2.15GHz and a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 1.6GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics card and 4GB of RAM. The Sony Xperia E5 has a Mediatek MT6735 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.3GHz, a Mali-T720MP2 graphics card and 1.5GB of RAM.

Storages

The HTC 10 has been released in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB, while the Sony Xperia E5 comes with an internal storage of 16GB. Both devices feature a microSD card slot that supports memory cards with a maximum capacity of 256GB for storage expansion.

Cameras

The HTC 10 sports a primary camera of 12MP that features OIS, dual-LED flash, laser autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, panorama, HDR, face detection and a secondary camera of 5MP. The Sony Xperia E5 has a better primary camera of 13MP that features LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, HDR, panorama, touch focus, face detection and a secondary camera of 5MP.

Batteries

The HTC 10 is powered by a non-removable battery of 3000 mAh which is more powerful than the 2700 mAh non-removable battery that the Sony Xperia E5 comes with.
