The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and OnePlus 3 are two smartphones that have been released in March and June 2016, respectively. The S7 Edge is larger compared to its predecessor, while the OnePlus 3 has a brand new design. Today we will compare these two handsets and let you decide which one of them you will want to purchase.
The Galaxy S7 Edge measures 150.9×72.6×7.7mm and weights 157 grams. The device is dust and water resistant and has a beautiful glass back and a metal frame, just like the S6 Edge, only that Samsung has decided to ditch the “Plus” variant and bring only an Edge variant. The OnePlus 3 is slightly slimmer and heavier, as it measures 152.7×74.7×7.4mm and weights 158 grams. Its predecessor had a Sandstone Black texture on its back, while the new model has a full metal body with two slim lines on its back, resembling an HTC flagship or iPhone.
The Galaxy S7 Edge has a super AMOLED display of 5.5-inch that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 534 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The OnePlus 3 comes with an optic AMOLED display of 5.5-inch that supports a lower resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 401 ppi and it’s also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

The Galaxy S7 Edge comes in two variants of chipsets, processors and graphics cards:
– a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset, a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 1.6GHz and a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 2.15GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics card and 4GB of RAM
– an Exynos 8890 Octa chipset, a quad-core Mongoose CPU clocked at 2.3GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.6GHz, a Mali-T880 MP12 graphics card and 4GB of RAM.
The OnePlus 3 has a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset, a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 2.15GHz and a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 1.6GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics card and 6GB of RAM.
The Galaxy S7 Edge has been released in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB which you can expand up to 256GB using a microSD card. On the other hand, the OnePlus 3 comes with an internal storage of 64GB, but you can’t expand, it as the device doesn’t feature a microSD card slot.
The Galaxy S7 Edge sports a primary camera of 12MP that features OIS, LED flash, phase detection autofocus, touch focus, auto HDR, face detection, panorama, geo-tagging and a secondary camera of 5MP. The OnePlus 3 has a primary camera of 16MP that features OIS, LED flash, phase detection autofocus, panorama, HDR, face detection, touch focus, geo-tagging and a secondary camera of 8MP.
The Galaxy S7 Edge is powered by a non-removable battery of 3600 mAh. On the other hand, the OnePlus 3 has a weaker battery of 3000 mAh which is also non-removable.
