This year, both Nexus phones will be built by HTC and if the smaller one is reportedly codenamed “Sailfish”, being the successor of the LG Nexus 5X 2015, the other is codenamed “Marlin” and it follows the Nexus 6P 2015.

Today we’ll talk about the flagship phablet, which will run on Android Nougat (Google has just announced the name of its upcoming operating system). The full list of specs of “Marlin” has just been leaked and here’s what you can expect from this device:

Screen: 5.5-inch with QHD resolution;
Cameras: 12MP on the back and 8MP on the front;
Hardware: a quad-core Qualcomm processor (most likely Snapdragon 820, or the newer 821/823) backed by 4GB of RAM;
Storage: 32 or 128GB;
Battery: 3,450 mAh;
Features: USB Type-C port, bottom-firing speakers and fingerprint scanner;
Connectivity: Bluetooth 4.2.

The smaller Sailfish model is expected to have the same cameras and RAM capacity, but its processor will be weaker, as usual. Also, rumors suggest that both models will have an identical design and most likely, HTC will opt for a metallic body.

Last year, the Nexus 5X was created by LG and it had a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS LCD screen protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, it was powered by a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 hexa core processor (four cores clocked at 1.44GHz and two cores clocked at 1.82GHz) backed by 2GB of RAM, and it offered two variants of internal memories with capacities of 16GB and 32Gb, which were fixed. The battery was non-removable and with a capacity of 2700mAh. The Nexus 5X shared the same rear camera as the Nexus 6P: 12.3MP, but it had a 5MP camera on the front.

As for the latter device, it was built by Huawei and it featured a much larger 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED screen protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4, it had a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chip with a quad-core 1.55 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and a quad-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A57 CPU backed by 3GB of RAM. The device was available in three variants of internal memories: 32/64/128 GB, also unexpandable, the front camera supported 8MP and the battery had a capacity of 3450mAh.
