The LG K8 has been released in April 2016, while the Xiaomi Mi Max has reached the stores one month later. Today we will compare these two handsets, which come with some pretty decent specifications.

Designs

The LG K8 measures 144.6×71.5×8.7mm and weights 157 grams. It has a plastic back available in black and white colors, which provides a great level of grip and under the camera you can find the volume and power buttons. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi Max is slimmer and heavier, as it measures 173.1×88.3×7.5mm and weights 203 grams. Its design is more premium, because Xiaomi preferred metal, and the device is available in a third variant of color: Gold.

Displays



The LG K8 has an IPS LCD display of 5-inch that supports a resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 294 ppi. The Xiaomi Mi Max comes with a bigger IPS LCD display of 6.44-inch that supports a higher resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 342 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The LG K8 features a Mediatek MT6735 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.3GHz, a Mali-T720 graphics card and 1.5GB of RAM. The Xiaomi Mi Max comes in two variants of chipsets and processors, as follows:

– Chipset: Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650 or Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 652;
– Processor: quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.4GHz and a dual-core Cortex A72 CPU clocked at 1.8GHz or a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.4GHz and a quad-core Cortex A72 CPU clocked at 1.8GHz.

The phablet also has an Adreno 510 graphics card and 3GB or 4GB of RAM.

Storages

The LG K8 comes in two internal storage variants of 8GB and 16GB, which you can expand up to 32GB using a microSD card. The Xiaomi Mi Max has been released in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB, but you can expand it up to 256GB using a microSD card.

Cameras

The LG K8 sports a primary camera of 8MP that features LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, face detection, panorama, touch focus and a secondary camera of 5MP. The Xiaomi Mi Max has a better primary camera of 16MP that features dual-LED flash, phase detection autofocus, panorama, HDR, geo-tagging, touch focus and a secondary camera of 5MP.

Batteries

The LG K8 is powered by a removable battery of 2125 mAh, which is way less powerful than the non-removable battery of Xiaomi Mi Max, which has a capacity of 4850 mAh.
