Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2: News, Rumors and More

There have been rumors about the Surface Pro 5 to be released in 2016, but the scheduled date is actually in 2017. According to Microsoft, they will include the Surface Book 2 but they will first introduce a couple of editions of Surface Phone powered by Windows 10 Mobile.

This new development has been reported by a Chinese website stating that the Surface Phone will rollout first along with the planned release of the range of Surface devices for the following year. This new rumor was exposed due to claims made by the tech giant that it will discontinue the Lumia smartphone line to favor a new brand.

Accordingly, the new Surface smartphones are going to be powered by the next-generation Snapdragon from Qualcomm. These new devices are touted to work as mobile desktops with the new Windows 10 Continuum. The technology is also rumored to power up the incoming version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 or 7, hyped to have desktop-class feature updates.

The Surface Pro 5 is also on the list to run on a Redstone 2 and Windows 10 systems. It will come at an enhanced battery capacity that enables the device to last for at least 7 long hours of action. This unit will come with the rechargeable stylus pen, sporting a 12.3-inch screen with a 2736 x 1824 resolution.

On the other hand, the Surface Book 2 is rumored to have equal improvements with that of its predecessor when it comes to display resolution and battery life. Likewise, it will still have the same design but will run on a Windows 10 mobile operating system. It will still feature an 8MP camera, among other things.

Perhaps when these devices will be released, Microsoft will be able to grab the prestige and fortune that have often been with the rival company, Apple, for quite some time now. However, the release dates might be subjected to change with the discretion of the company, of course. Hence, it is great to stay updated with the latest buzz regarding the rumored release of Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2.
