Galaxy J7 vs Galaxy C5 – Is One Really Better than the Other?

South Korean tech company Samsung has dominated the smartphone market, thanks to its wide range of mobile devices that is differentiated by names and a few differences in their features. Good thing the names are easy to remember, or their marketing effort would have been in vain. The company offers Samsung Galaxy A to Samsung Galaxy S, and a few letters in between.

The Samsung Galaxy J series is a number of mid-range smartphones that has amazing capabilities, but at a more affordable price point. The latest release Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016), comes with two variants of processors, one of which is the octa-core Exynos 7580 SoC, while the other is the Snapdragon 615 SoC. It has a 2GB RAM, packed in a 5.5-inch smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy C5, on the other hand, is a new addition to the existing mobile devices on the market. It is aimed at the Chinese market, which would make you think why they opted to use the letter C. Because of a few similarities with the Galaxy J7, the Samsung Galaxy C5 is often set up for comparison with its fellow Samsung smartphone.

Here are perfectly good reasons why:

  • It is slightly lighter and slimmer than the GalaxyJ7 (2016). It is made of metal with slightly curved corners. Its design is often compared to Apple iPhone as well. If Apple gets wind of this, expect Samsung to be slapped with another lawsuit.
  • It has a RAM size twice as big as that of the Galaxy J7, which pretty much says a lot about its performance and speed.
  • It promises better photos with a selfie camera of 8MP and rear camera of 16MP.
  • Although it only has a 5.2 inch display, it boasts of 1080p full HD panel, which is slightly higher than the 720p HD panel of the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016).

Moreover, the Galaxy J7 (2016) is shipped with only a 16-GB on-board storage, while the Galaxy C5 is available with 32GB and 64GB storage options.

Between Galaxy J7 and Galaxy C5, which one should you choose? Before you can decide, you could be looking at Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 as well. What a predicament. But you’ll pick the right one for you.
