The next flagship phablet will be named Note 7, as Samsung will skip the Note 6 name because it wants to sync up the numbering with the Galaxy S line, as the latest released mid-tier flagship is Galaxy S7. That doesn’t mean that the Galaxy Note 7 will turn into a tablet with a 7-inch screen. According to the latest rumors, the phablet will be released on August 2 in the UK and on 15 August 15 in the US, and it will have an Edge variant. Let’s check out their specs and features.

In the UK, the Note 7 will cost around £630 (TBC) and the Note 7 Edge will cost around £730 (TBC), but the phone will be also available to buy with a contract and the deals usually cost around £45-50 per month.

Likewise the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the Note 7 and Note 7 Edge will have a glass and metal design and will be dust and water resistant and we’re expecting the phablet to have a curvier rear. uSwitch has even created a concept video of 15 seconds in which can be seen the imagined Galaxy Note 7. Here’s the video of it:

Last year, Samsung has released the Galaxy S6 Edge with a 5.1-inch display and the S6 Edge Plus with a 5.5-inch display. This year, Samsung has skipped the 5.1-inch version and it brought only the 5.5-inch variant alongside the Galaxy S7. The Note 5 was released with a 5.7-inch QHD screen and the upcoming Note 7 is rumored to be larger, but it’s not sure if it will measure 5.77-inch or 6-inch. 4K resolution was already introduced on the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, so it wouldn’t be a big surprise if Samsung will do the same with the Note 7.

Samsung won’t do the same mistake as it did last year, when it equipped both the Galaxy S6 and the Note 5 with the same processor. This time, the Note 7 will be much more powerful, as it will be powered by the new Exynos 8890 processor, but there will be also another variant that will have the latest gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor. Both variants will support 6GB of RAM and will have an internal memory of 32GB, which will support expansion.

The Note houses a 3000mAh battery. If the Note 7 will have a larger screen, it will need a bigger battery and rumors suggest that its capacity will be 3700mAh. The Note 7 Edge, on the other hand, is expected to have even a bigger cell of 4000mAh.

The rear camera will be 12MP and will come with Super OIS Plus, although other rumors claim that its resolution will be much higher, of 20MP.

The popular S-Pen stylus will benefit from improvements, but for now, we don’t know anything about what changes will be made to it. The device will have a fingerprint scanner, a heart-rate scanner and most likely an iris scanner.
