The Xiaomi Mi5 and Motorola Moto G4 are two smartphones that have been released in April and May 2016. Both devices come with some pretty good specifications and today we will compare them.

Designs

The Xiaomi Mi5 measures 144.6×69.2×7.3mm and weights 139 grams. It has 3D glass on the back which is curved toward the chamfered metal frame, making it comfortable to hold. It has a more premium aspect than the Motorola Moto G4 Plus, which measures 153×76.6×9.8mm and weights 155 grams, and which has a plastic textured removable back.

Displays



The Xiaomi Mi5 has an IPS LCD display of 5.15-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 428 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Motorola Moto G4 Plus comes with a bigger IPS LCD display of 5.5-inch that supports the same resolution, but which gives a lower pixel density of 401ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Xiaomi Mi5 features a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset, a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 1.36GHz and a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 1.8GHz or a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 2.15GHz and a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 1.6GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics card and 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The Motorola Moto G4 Plus has a Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.2GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.5GHz, an Adreno 405 graphics card and 2GB, 3GB or 4GB of RAM.

Storages

The Xiaomi Mi 5 has been released in three internal storage variants of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, but it doesn’t support a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The Motorola Moto G4 Plus comes in three internal storage variants of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB which you can expand up to 256GB using a microSD card.

Cameras

The Xiaomi Mi5 sports a primary camera of 16MP that features phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash, OIS, touch focus, geo-tagging, panorama, HDR, face detection and a secondary camera of 4MP. The Motorola Moto G4 Plus has a primary camera of 16MP that features dual-LED flash, phase detection & laser autofocus, auto HDR, panorama, face detection, touch focus, geo-tagging and a secondary camera of 5MP.

Batteries

Both devices are powered by a non-removable battery of 3000 mAh.
