This is a rumor started by industry insider, Shinobi602, who reported that Bethesda will release a remastered version of “Skyrim” which will include all DLC packs, mod support and a big visual improvement. If this rumor will prove to be true, then the “Elder Scrolls 6”, which has been announced in February, will not be released very soon.

According to Forbes, Bethesda could announce the remaster of “The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim” for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One during E3 2016. This means that the fans of the series will need to wait longer for the release of Elder Scrolls 6 because Bethesda will take a while to develop the game, especially because the company has been busy with Fallout 4, which was launched in November 2015, and didn’t have time to focus more on the sequel to The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. But, at least we know that the Elder Scrolls 6 is under development, as the company has made the announcement in February, through Pete Hines, vice president of PR and marketing.

However, back then, Hines has referred to the next installment as Skyrim 2, which, according to Eurogamer, it means that the Oblivion or Morrowind maps will not be included. Fans are confused because they don’t know if Bethesda will release a totally new game, or Skyrim 2, but critics believe that the game will be set in Valenwood, which is south-western province of Tamriel, where the Bosmer, or Wood Elves live.

Bethesda hired a team of 100 developers to produce Skyrim, which was released in November 2011, and until now, there have been sold over 20 million copies. It’s not sure when Elder Scrolls 6: Skyrim 2 will be released, but Gaming Bolt has reported that the game will introduce “new imaginative weapons, that play far differently from one another.”
