A new WhatsApp BETA version has been released and it is now available on the Google Play Store. The new WhatsApp 2.16.118 doesn’t come with the Video Calling feature, but it does activate the “reply or quote messages”. It is good to know that the developers haven’t officially confirmed that the Video Calling feature will be brought to the application, but we are pretty sure that they will be forced to bring it or they will start losing a good amount of users.

We remind you that this new feature (“reply or quote messages”) was implemented in a previous WhatsApp version, but the developers have activated it after the release of the new BETA version. The new feature works this way: when you select a message, you will notice that an arrow pointing to the left will appear and by tapping on the arrow, which has quoted a message, you will notice that a new option to answer will appear.

We agree that you will firstly find this new feature very simple, but we assure you that it is very important for the mobile messaging application and this will surely bring some clarity in our WhatsApp conversations.

The new WhatsApp 2.16.118 APK (installation) file has been increased by 24KB, it has almost 240 files modified, two of them being related to the missed call option (“msg_status_missed_call.png and “ic_missed_call.png”).
