This year, we’ve seen the release of two very powerful smartphones, Moto G4 Plus and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, in this article we’ll be putting them side by side specs wise to see which one is better.

Processor

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 sports a very efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor whereas the Moto G4 Plus features a slower Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor.

RAM and Storage

Both smartphones come in two variants. Xiaomi Redmi has a 16 GB with 2GB RAM variant and the second one has 32GB of storage and 3GB of RAM. Both can be expanded to 32GB with a MicroSD card.

On the other hand the Moto G4 Plus has a 16/32GB of storage with 2GB of RAM variant and a second one with 64GB and ¾ GB of RAM. Both variants can be expanded to 128GB with a MicroSD card.



Display

Both smartphones sport a 5.5 inch IPS LCD screen with a 1.080×1.920 px in resolution an a pixel density of approximately 400ppi.

Camera

This is another department where both phones are alike. The Moto G4 Plus and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 feature a 16MP rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture complete with dual LED flash, autofocus and phase detection.

However, they’re not the same when it comes to the front facing camera. The Moto G4 Plus has a 5MP selfie camera with a f/2.2 aperture and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features a a 5MP  selfie camera with a f/2.0 aperture that has been described as far more sophisticated than other high ranking smartphone models on the market.

Size

The Moto G4 Plus is slightly bigger than the Xiaomi at 6.02×3.02×0.39 inches, yet surprisingly lighter than it at only 155g compared to the 164g of Xiaomi. The latter also measures 5.91×2.99×0.34 inches.

Battery

Both handsets have non-removable batteries that support fast charging. However, the Xiaomi features a 4.000mAh one, whereas the Moto G4 Plus uses a 3.000mAh battery.

Operating Systems

This is where the Moto G4 Plus shines. It comes with the latest Google OS – Android Marshmallow, while Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with the previous Android version – Lollipop.

SIM

The Xiaomi features  dual SIM card slots, while, Moto G4 only sports on SIM slot.

Fingerprint scanner
