Yesterday, two more Lumia smartphones have received the new Windows 10 Mobile update. We’re talking about the AT&T version of the Lumia 640 and the Verizon version of the 735, which are getting the update over-the-air.

AT&T has officially confirmed on its forums that the Lumia 640 will be upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile, but the update will roll out over-the-air, not traditionally, so users won’t be notified when it will be available. This means that users will need to manually check for the new software by going to the Upgrade Advisor app and download it from there, or by heading to their device’s Settings > Phone update > Check for updates. The same update method is available for the Lumia 735 connected to Verizon.

This new operating system came installed on the Lumia 950, 950 XL, 550 and 650, and after a few delays, it was introduced for the following Lumias and Microsoft’s third party OEMs: Lumia 1520, 930, 640, 640XL, 730, 735, 830, 532, 535, 540, 635 1GB, 636 1GB, 638 1GB, 430, 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLU Win HD LTE x150q, and MCJ Madosma Q501.

The Lumia 520, Lumia 1020 and the Lumia 1320 have missed out the update, but Microsoft has explained on its blog that these devices didn’t meet the requirements to receive Windows 10 Mobile, as the company wanted to offer the best experience for its users.

The Lumia 640 was released in April 2015 with Windows 8.1 and Lumia Denim on top of it. It has a glossy plastic back curved on the edged and available in many colors, and its screen is an IPS LCD sized at 5-inch, which supports a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels at 294 ppi. Inside, it has a weak Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor that powers a Qualcomm MSM8926 Snapdragon 400 chipset and it’s backed by an Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM. This hardware configuration was used by the Lumia 735 as well, only that this phone was released in September 2014 with a smaller screen of 4.7-inch which offers a higher pixel density of 312ppi. Both devices have an internal memory of 8GB expandable up to 128GB, but their cameras have different resolutions. The Lumia 640 has an 8MP primary camera and a 1MP secondary camera, while the Lumia 735 has a 6.7 MP Carl Zeiss camera on the back and a 5MP camera on the front.
