The problem when no official word is released is that rumors fly in all directions. And they will keep coming until something legit is confirmed.
This exactly what’s happening with Grand Theft Auto 6. Everyone is speculating about its release date, with some thinking it will come out in 2020. But recent reports are saying it could come out two years earlier.
Game developer Rockstar Games is busy once again releasing more DLCs for Grand Theft Auto 5 and a few updates with GTA V online. So fans are hoping their enthusiasm translates to a new franchise. Surely they won’t focus on adding content to GTA 5 alone.
Many believed that the next installment of Grand Theft Auto will make its debut at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016. Although Rockstar has yet to confirm or deny such rumors, fans are hoping that the studio is already working on the upcoming installment this year, and that the new video game will be presented at E3 2016. After all, it is a huge gaming event that will bring together game and tech enthusiast from over the globe. This provides the perfect venue to showcase the new Grand Theft Auto 6.
Given the amount of time needed to complete a game franchise, it is possible that the market release date for Grand Theft Auto 6 won’t be until 2018. The idea is further reinforced based on the pattern of a 5-year gap in-between game releases that Rockstar has been doing. Grand Theft Auto 5 was released 5 years after Grand Theft Auto 4 was launched worldwide.
What do fans hope to see in Grand Theft Auto 6?
Accessible restaurants and buildings. Moving inside restaurants was missing in GTA 5, which disappointed a lot of players. They’re hoping such interactivity will be included in Grand Theft Auto 6, along with access to buildings.
More of Cops n’ Crooks. In GTA 4, players can engage in a multiplayer game mode called Cops n’ Crooks, where they are split into two teams playing the good and bad side of the law. It was a pretty exciting game mode, which left many teary-eyed when it didn’t appear in GTA 5 or GTA Online. So everyone’s hoping Cops n’ Crooks will make an appearance in GTA 6 again, if the next installment will have a multiplayer mode.
There are many things that fans are hoping for, but until an announcement is made that development is on the way, hopes will be just that.
