With over half a billion users, it would seem abnormal if you are one of those people who have yet to use WhatsApp. With the latest update available with fingerprint protection, it is not a surprise that WhatsApp will continue to become one of the most popular messaging service app.
So if you have yet to install it, you should go ahead. But you might want to avoid telling everyone you’ve been left behind. You’re going to catch up with them, after all.
How do you download and install WhatsApp on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4?
There are two ways to do this:
- Go to Google Play Store, search for the app, download and install.
- Search for the APK file from your browser, such as WhatsApp APK 2.12.342, download the file and install.
The former is the easier of the two. You simply need to search for the app, click to install and wait for the installation to complete all by itself. WhatsApp will need permission to access your contacts, Wi-Fi, camera and other phone features it needs to work seamlessly.
But in the event that your tablet doesn’t have the Google Play Store, you can do the latter.
1. Open a browser on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, and type in WhatsApp APK in the text box.
2. On your tab, go to Settings>Security> check Unknown Sources.
3. Search for the downloaded APK file and tap on it.
4. Follow the installation instructions until setup is complete. Then, enjoy.
The latest WhatsApp APK is 2.16.99 (451183).
Why even bother to use WhatsApp when your mobile phone is perfectly capable of sending text messages?
It’s free. For as long as you’re connected online, you can send as many text messages as you want and to as many people as you want. Need we say more?
It has extended capabilities. WhatsApp is a cross-platform mobile messaging app that not only allows you to send an SMS, but also pictures, videos and other files.
It will soon allow video calling. This is another feature you can do for free. And unlike making phone calls on Skype, it is not limited between apps, but between mobile phones. This means you don’t need credits to call a mobile number, which is something you would need on Skype.
As more updates are rolled out, more features will be added on WhatsApp. This means better user experience for you, regardless if you use an old or new Samsung Galaxy model.
