Sony has released its Xperia Z5 handset in October 2015 and is now preparing to release the budget-friendly Xperia E5 smartphone. The new Xperia E5 is expected to arrive this month and if you take a look at its specs, maybe you’ll decide to buy it.


The Xperia Z5 measures 146x72x7.3mm and weights 154 grams. If you’re already used to Sony’s special design that involves a frosted glass back, a metal frame and rubber bumpers on the corners, then you will surely like this device. But if you want a plastic phone with a simple design, then the Xperia E5 is what you’re looking for. Compared to the Xperia Z5, it’s thicker and lighter as it measures 144x69x8.2mm, and it weights 147 grams.


The Xperia Z5 features an IPS LCD display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 428 ppi. On the other hand, the Xperia E5 comes with a smaller IPS display of 5-inch that supports a lower resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 294 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Xperia Z5 has a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.5GHz and a quad-core Cortex A57 CPU clocked at 2.0GHz, an Adreno 430 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. The Xperia E5 features a weaker Mediatek MT6735 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.3GHz, a Mali-T720MP2 graphics card and only 1.5GB of RAM.


The Xperia Z5 has been released with an internal memory of 32GB, while the Xperia E5 is expected to have half its capacity. However, both devices provide a microSD card slot with a maximum capacity of 200GB.


The Xperia Z5 sports a primary camera of 23MP that features LED flash, phase detection autofocus, HDR, panorama, touch focus, geo-tagging and a secondary camera of 5.1MP. On the other hand, the Xperia E3 has a weaker primary camera of only 13MP that features LED flash, geo-tagging, panorama, HDR, face detection, touch focus and a secondary camera of 5MP.
