Latest rumors say that this year MacBook Air will step aside and leave the MacBook Pro 2016, but is it true? Many people are waiting for the answer to this question this month, when the Worldwide Developers Conference takes place in San Francisco between June 13th and June 17th.

Ming-Chi Kuo, who works as an Apple analyst, says that this year we will get to enjoy a revamping of the MacBook Pro. According to other rumors the analyst heard, this new generation of laptops will be lighter and thinner, a design it might have inherited from the 12 inches MacBook. Moreover, it seems that this new device will have TouchID support. Above the keyboard it seems that we will also find a touch bar based on an OLED display. This will come in place of the actual keys placed on top of the frame of the MacBook Pro version.

Meanwhile, a rumored release date for the revamped MacBook Pro series is somewhere towards the end of this year. Experts have been analyzing the market and the statistics and say that the new design will slowly replace the MacBook Air laptops. They foresee that the company will rename the 11- and 13-inches Air devices as being entry-level ones, instead of receiving upgrades with new trackpads and faster technology.

Kuo also suggested that the company will keep their hierarchy when it comes to devices and that they will sell the 12- and 13-inches MacBooks as some mid-level products. Meanwhile, the Pro laptop will become a premium device.

In other news, rumor has it that the future notebook will enjoy Thunderbolt 3 technology and a USB-C feature, together with some performant Intel processors (Skylake) and a new fingerprint recognition type of technology.
