Rumors have been very persistent about Elder Scrolls 6 and with E3 just around the corner, there are plenty of rumors stating that the game will be revealed in June for a 2017 release date. According to these rumors, Bethesda will be showing an announcement trailer during their event to show what the game will be about and where the game will take place in Tamriel, their fictional world where The Elder Scrolls takes place.
At E3 2015 Bethesda announced to the world that Fallout 4 was going to be released in several months times; Bethesda fans are expecting the company to use a similar announcement method for The Elder Scrolls 6 however, the online community ‘knew’ that Fallout 4 existed and was going to be released. The rumours about Fallout 4 seemed to more certain because the series was due to receive a new game.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was announced in 2010 and 11 months later the game was finally released, fans are expecting that there will be a much shorted release date this time considering how the Fallout 4 release was dealt with.
While the online community is a little more sceptical about another Elder Scrolls game, there is a lot to suggest that it’s already in development. Bethesda have gotten a patent for the word “Argonia” which is a name for the province of Black Marsh and one of the places that fans were expecting the next game to take place. Black Marsh is where the reptilian race named Argonians come from and has not yet been featured in a game which makes it seem very likely that something relating to this province is coming. The company has also been advertising that they are looking to get a new “Quest Designer” with experience in RPGs and “The Elder Scrolls Construction Set”, this is certain evidence that there is work being done for a The Elder Scrolls RPG.
Last year after E3, Bethesda stated that they would not attend E3 every year; instead they will only attend when they have something noteworthy to announce, in 2015 it was Fallout 4. Bethesda will be attending E3 2016 and there are some games that fans are expecting to see such as Dishonored 2 and The Elder Scrolls Legends. Fans are expecting to get some kind of big news at E3, either for The Elder Scrolls 6 or a new IP.
If there is no news at E3 about The Elder Scrolls 6, then fans are expecting the game to be released some time in 2019.
