Today we will talk about the newly released HTC One S9 and Sony’s Xperia X Performance, which has been announced in February, but which will arrive in July. The One S9 has a lot in common with the One M9 (screen size, front camera and battery), while the Sony Xperia X Performance is the only smartphone from the new trio that’s water and dust resistant.

Designs

The HTC One S9 measures 144.6×69.7×10.1mm and weights 158 grams. The device looks exactly as the One M9, featuring a curved aluminum body with thin horizontal strips on the back – they’re hiding the radio antennas. Also, the rear camera has a square lens and it’s located on the top center, under the first strip. On the other hand, the Sony Xperia X Performance is slimmer and heavier, as it measures 143.7×70.4×8.7mm and weights 164.4 grams. Its body is also made of full metal, but the back is flat and the corners are rounded, while the rear camera sits in the upper left corner.

Displays

Both phones have displays with a diagonal of 5-inch and a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels that results in a pixel density of 441ppi, but the HTC One S9 uses a super LCD display and the Sony Xperia X Performance has an IPS LCD panel.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The HTC One S9 features a Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset, an octa-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 2.0GHz, a PowerVR G6200 graphics card and 2GB of RAM.
