The iPhone 6s and Nexus 6P are two smartphones that have been released last fall: the former came earlier, in September 2015, with iOS 9 out of the box, while the latter was introduced a month later and it ran on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Both devices come with some pretty good specifications and today we will compare them.
The iPhone 6s measures 138.3×67.1×7.1mm and weights 143 grams. Likewise its predecessor, it has an aluminum body with horizontal lines on the back, but Apple has introduced a new color: Rose Gold.
The Nexus 6P was created by Huawei, it’s thicker and heavier as it measures 159.3×77.8×7.3mm and weights 178 grams. Its body is also metallic, but it has a glass Gorilla strip on the back, where you’ll find the rear camera.
The iPhone 6s has an LED-backlit IPS LCD display of 4.7-inch that supports a resolution of 1334×750 pixels at 326 ppi and it’s protected by an ion-strengthened glass. Also, it supports Force Touch, a technology that allows you to interact with the screen through taps.
On the other hand, the Nexus 6P has a bigger AMOLED display of 5.7-inch that supports a higher resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 518 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The iPhone 6s has an Apple A9 chipset, a dual-core Twister processor clocked at 1.84GHz, a PowerVR GT7600 (six-core) graphics card and 2GB of RAM. The Nexus 6P features a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.55GHz and a quad-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 2.0GHz, an Adreno 430 graphics card and 3GB of RAM.
The iPhone 6s has been released in three internal storage variants of 16GB, 64GB and 128GB, while the Nexus 6p has been released in three internal storage variants of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Unfortunately, none of these two devices offers a card slot for storage expansion.
The iPhone 6s sports a primary camera of 12MP that features dual-LED flash, phase detection autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 5MP. On the other hand, the Nexus 6p has a primary camera of 12.3MP that features laser autofocus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR, panorama, face detection and a secondary camera of 8MP.
The iPhone 6s has been released with a non-removable battery of 1715 mAh, which is less powerful than the non-removable 3450 mAh battery that the Nexus 6P came with, but the latter is a phablet and larger displays require more power.
