Today we will compare Samsung’s latest flagship – Galaxy S7 and Apple’s iPhone 6S smartphone, which was released in September 2015. They’re extremely different, and choosing one of them can be a tough decision, because it depends on one’s preferences in matter of operating system and hardware specs.
The iPhone 6S measures 138.3×67.1×7.1mm and weights 143 grams. The Galaxy S7 is thicker and heavier as it measures 142.4×69.6×7.9mm and weights 152 grams. Wile the former has a glass back with a metal frame, the latter has a full metal body (aluminum) with horizontal lines and the top and bottom.
The iPhone 6S has a LED-backlit IPS LCD display of 4.7-inch that supports a resolution of 1334×750 pixels at 326 ppi and it’s protected by an ion-strengthened glass. On the other hand, the super Galaxy S7 comes with a bigger super AMOLED display of 5.1-inch that supports a higher resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 577 ppi and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The iPhone 6S features an Apple A9 chipset powered by a dual-core Twister processor clocked at 1.84GHz, a PowerVR GT7600 graphics card and 2GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Galaxy S7 comes in two variants:
– one has a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset, a dual-core Kryo processor clocked at 1.6GHz and a dual-core Kryo processor clocked at 2.15GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics card and 4GB of RAM;
– and the other variant comes with an Exynos 8890 Octa chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.6GHz and a quad-core Mongoose processor clocked at 2.3GHz, a Mali-T880 MP12 graphics card and 4GB of RAM.
The iPhone 6S has been released in three internal storage variants of 16GB, 64GB and 128GB, but it doesn’t feature a card slot for storage expansion. The Galaxy S7 comes in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB, which can be expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card.
The iPhone 6S sports a primary camera of 12MP that features dual-LED flash, phase detection autofocus, HDR, face detection, touch focus, geo-tagging and a secondary camera of 5MP. The Galaxy S7 has a primary camera of 12MP that features phase detection autofocus, OIS, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, auto HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 5MP.
Both handsets come with non-removable batteries with capacities of 1715 mAh (iPhone 6S) and 3000 mAh (Galaxy S7).
