We all know there has been some time since the latest update of the Android OS. However, those who have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphone can’t enjoy an official version of this OS. More than that, there isn’t even an official date of release for these phones, which made users sick of waiting for an update. However, there is a way of obtaining the update.
First of all, you have to back up your entire data to be sure you will not lose it. Take extra caution and back up what’s on your SD card, even if this will not be erased. Enable USB Debugging in the Setting menu and root your Galaxy S6 or S6 edge with custom recovery. Also, download Crisscross ROM for the phone and Gapps files. Last but not least, make sure you have at least 70% battery.
Then, download the ROM and Gapps file. Ensure they are copied to the internal storage through a cable. Disconnect the device from the PC and turn it off. The next step is to boot the device and enter the Recovery Mode o that you can flash it. In order to get there, you have to press the power button, the home button and the volume up one simultaneously for a couple of seconds, until the phone turns on. Now you have to go to Wipe and select the Factory Reset or Wipe Data.
All you have to do now is to find the Install menu and browse through the device storage until you select the ROM archive you have previously downloaded. Tap the Add More Zips option and choose the Gapps file. Now you just have to swipe and confirm flashing. The device will now start to install the custom ROM and the Gapps.
