The owners of Huawei P8 Lite living in Europe are finally getting the 6.0 Android Marshmallow update and this news was announced by the company on its 6.0 Android Marshmallow, and some Germans have reported that they’ve already received the firmware. Almost a month ago, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow started being rolled out to a few Galaxy Note 4 devices and soon, the update will land on all handsets.

Europeans are privileged by Huawei, as they’ve received the 6.0 Marshmallow update on their P8 Lite smartphone before users in the United States. The installation file has a size of 1.5 GB and it can be downloaded to the unlocked version of the Huawei P8 Lite, while carrier variants will be tested and soon they will get the approval to receive the update over the air.

As for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, some of its variants started being upgraded to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow almost a month ago, and more users all over the world are finally enjoying the goodies that the latest update has brought. TouchWiz was also revamped, offering users a faster and smoother navigation, but Samsung has focused also on the screen-off writing support. So, users are now able to write notes on the Galaxy Note 4 screen without needing to turn it on, as in the past, they had to save or discard the note/sketch.

The screen-off memo should be active as soon as the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is installed, but if the function isn’t enabled, users can do it manually, by going to the Settings menu and selecting the S Pen section. Then, they will swipe down and will see the Screen off memo and check the box next to it.

We remind you that Marshmallow introduced new features, such as Google Now on Tap, which anticipates what users are looking for, based on what’s on the device’s screen, and it provides cards with useful information. Doze will extend the battery life by optimizing the background processes and putting them into a sleep state. And app permissions will allow users to have more control over what parts of the device are accessing applications, such as microphone, location or camera.
