WhatsApp 2.16.80 is the latest BETA version of the application for Android devices, which can be downloaded and installed directly from the Google Play Store. According to reports, the Video Calling feature is almost ready to be activated and there are rumors which say that the developers will activate it today.
If you will go to a chat windows and click on the icon to call, you will notice a new option to make a “Video Call”. However, when you tap on the “Video Call” option, it will say that the feature is not yet available. However, this clearly shows that the developers are just making some adjustments to the application and they might enable the Video Calling feature sometime in the next hours.
We have also noticed a “Voice Mail” function, which will act as an answering machine. In other words, when you will not answer to a Voice/Video Call, the Voice Mail will kick in and it will allow the person to leave a Voice message. There are also two new features that allow you to send invitations via links and respond or quote messages. However, these two features will also be activated sometime in the near future.
The WhatsApp 2.16.80 APK (installation) file has decreased by 83Kb, there are 40 modified files and no new files have been added.
