More rumors surfaced saying that the big search engine company will release its Nexus 7 2016 tablet during the Google I/O 2016 event.

The Google I/O 2016 will take place at Shoreline Ampitheater in Mountain View, CA during May 18-20, 2016. During this event, Google will show off some of the new products that they are working on. Many tablet fans are hoping that they will be able to see the upcoming Nexus 7 2016 handset during this event, but the big search engine company hasn’t confirmed any of these rumors.

It is rumored that along with the upgraded Nexus 7 2016, Google will also showcase the Android N, which is the operating system which is currently being tested out by developers on a variety of Nexus devices. The Google Nexus 7 2016 is expected to run on the Android N OS, which will surely make many fans very happy.

According to TechTimes, the Android N will feature support for pressure-sensitive displays, such as the 3D Touch and Force Touch feature. We remind you that this feature has been available on many devices released by Apple for quite a while. At the same time, the Android N will support Unicode 9 and it will feature a new Vulcan API and launcher shortcuts.

We remind you that Google has released its latest Nexus 7 tablet back in 2013, which means that it is about time for the company to release a new tablet. Back in 2012, when Google has released the first version of the Nexus 7, the company has worked with Asus. One year later, the Nexus 7 2013 has been released and it was manufactured once again by Asus.

We’re not sure if Asus will manufacture the upcoming Nexus 7 2016, as the chairman of the company said in an interview with TrustedReviews that they have no plans on manufacturing a new Nexus 7 tablet.

There are rumors which say that Google will now use HTC or Huawei for the upcoming Nexus 7 2016. Unfortunately, none of these rumors has been confirmed by Google, which means that we should take them with a bit of salt.

Do you think that Google will release a new Nexus 7 tablet this year?
