It seems that WhatsApp’s developers have decided to pay more attention to the Windows Phone version and they’re releasing new updates more often. So, the development team have released version 2.16.46, which is a beta update containing changes to document sharing features and conversation UI.
A few days ago, aggiornamentilumia.it has announced that WhatsApp has released a new update for Windows Phone, which brought visual improvements to the application, besides usual bug fixes. However, WhatsApp 2.16.46 is in beta phase and it’s available for users who are part of the private program that WhatsApp has started with the purpose to test updates before they’re rolled out to users.
Until now, Windows Phone users were allowed only to receive Office documents on their devices, but thanks to the new version, document sharing is now possible on both ends. Also, developers have included all features that have been previously released for this application.
Aggiornamenti Lumia has posted a video on YouTube showing the new WhatsApp 2.16.46 beta update in action and users can notice the new wallpapers with solid colors, the new location for the call button, which was placed in the right part of the screen, alone, while the contact profile photo has been moved to the left side. Many users will appreciate this change, because when they will want to view the full profile photo of the contact, they will no longer accidentally tap the wrong button and call him/her. The conversation UI finally aligned to the design of Microsoft’s new Windows 10 Mobile OS, but we’re pretty sure that developers will continuously make visual changes.
Here’s the demo video we’ve told you about:
The new beta update has received other performance and stability improvements, and the bug that affected status messages has been fixed. Most likely, the public release will follow in short time and all new features and changes will be included.
