LG G flagship phones got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, including LG G4. Although hiccups happened along the way, the rollout was quite successful. In fact, LG comes with surprising new features with the latest Android operating system.
LG G4 UX upgrades
Changes in auto brightness
The new auto brightness feature automatically adjusts, depending on whether you are in a dark or bright place. It automatically brightens or darkens, respectively. Keep your eyes on the brightness slider to see it automatically slides, depending on the ambient light.
Changes in Google settings
Be better in control with Google apps and services by going to Settings > General > Google.
Simplified apps settings
In previous LG models, running apps, disabled apps, apps on the SD card and downloaded apps are placed on separate tabs. But in the latest device, apps settings are placed in a simple screen. On the top right corner of the screen, you would find a menu that would allow you to include or exclude system apps.
Addition of Allow Peeking on settings
With the Android 6.0 on LG G4, you can set up app notifications to always show up on top of the screen. To allow peeking or not, just go to Settings > General > Apps > (Name of selected apps). With this feature, you won’t overlook another notification again.
Better access to memory settings
Do you want to see the hourly memory usage of an app without going through several menus? The improved UX experience on LG G4 makes this possible. Still, it is up to you to make the memory accessible with just a few taps. Just go to Settings > General > Memory to be easily accessible.
In addition to the improved UX features, there are also several settings that have been upgraded in the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The battery, for example, is optimized automatically whenever your phone or apps have been idle for a certain period of time. Once your phone or apps are in use again, battery optimization will automatically stop.
It is important to note, however, that battery optimization would mute sounds of alarm and app notifications. But you can change battery optimization settings to ensure that notifications would still sound off for certain apps. Just go to Settings, and then tap on General > Battery & power saving > Battery usage > Ignore optimizations.
Changes were also made to the Knock Code settings, apps permissions, silent mode and direct share. If the LG G3 got new updates with the new Android OS, so should LG G4.
