No one has heard much from Kojima since he formed Kojima Productions and began work on a mysterious game for the PlayStation 4, but now a new interview in Weekly Famitsu has revealed information about Kojima’s new game and studio. Thanks to Gematsu, we have the details to share.

While he didn’t reveal a lot about the game, Kojima said that they’re experimenting and that it will be an AAA-level action game:

While not to say that it’s open-world, users who enjoy today’s AAA games (The Division and Uncharted, etc.) will be able to easily enjoy it. When it is announced, you might think ‘that’s not that outstanding,’ but you’ll understand when you see it and play it. The genre is action.

That’s exciting to hear, if a bit intriguing that he doesn’t think people will understand it when it’s first announced. It will be good to finally see his new game. Hopefully that day will come soon, although it sounds like the game is still in its beginning stages, with most of the work going into the concept and idea so far. He mentioned that in working with Sony to make this game, they have a lot of freedom.

In the interview, Kojima also talked a little about Kojima Productions itself. He said there is a secret to their logo (pictured above) and that they intend to turn it into a figure.

Kojima expressed his hopes for virtual reality, as well, saying that he wants to eventually make a VR game and believes it “holds the key to game development.” Perhaps we’ll see a Kojima Productions VR game sometime in the future.

After the situation between Kojima and Konami, fans are eagerly waiting to see what he and Kojima Productions will do now that they’re on their own.

His new game, which we still don’t know much about, will be a console exclusive for the PlayStation 4 and should be released on the PC as well. What sort of game do you think it is? What do you hope for? Share all your thoughts on Kojima’s new game in the comments.
