Pokemon fans will be delighted to know that the latest games in the franchise will be released in the later part of 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
The announcement trailer for Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon revealed that the games will be launched on Holiday 2016, which means that they may come in time for Thanksgiving in the U.S. or even for Christmas. If this is the case, the games will most likely see excellent sales since many parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles will want to buy them as gifts for children.
Pokemon Sun and Moon will be released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the gaming franchise.
What should gamers expect?
Now that there’s a somewhat definitive date for the games’ release, fans are turning to the features that Pokemon Sun and Moon might bring. Pokemon.com has already revealed that the new games will be compatible with the Pokemon Bank. This means that any monsters that players have captured in the previous Pokemon games (like Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow and Pokemon X and Y) can be transferred to Pokemon Sun and Moon.
The Pokemon website has also noted that the new games will allow players to choose from nine languages. For the first time ever, players can choose to play in either Simplified or Traditional Chinese.
There are several rumors about the other possible features of Pokemon Sun and Moon, and one of these is that they might have a “Pokemon Cry Translator”. Fans are pointing to a past interview with Game Freak Director of the Board Junichi Masuda, in which he said that he wanted to include a speech-to-text translator in Pokemon X and Y. This translator can help players understand what their monsters are saying and pave the way to an improved gaming experience.
Other rumors point to the regions that would be included in the games. There are some people who think that Pokemon Sun and Moon will feature all the regions that have appeared in the past games, although it’s highly unlikely since it would result to an extremely large game size that may not fit into the 3DS cartridge.
There are also other fans who believe that the new games will feature only two regions. One of these may be Zygarde which, according to rumors, would have been the region of Pokemon Z if it was released. In fact, many people think that Pokemon Sun and Moon will feature the monsters that supposedly would have appeared in Pokemon Z, such as Volcanion, Zygarde and Mangearna.
