The Fallout 4 DLC Far Harbor is due out in just under two weeks, on May 19. It will take you to an island off the coast of Maine, called Far Harbor, and deals with the Children of Atom. If you haven’t already watched the Far Harbor trailer, take a minute to check it out now.
Although you don’t have to be a specific level to play the DLC, it was announced earlier today you won’t be able to play the Far Harbor content until you’ve completed the quest in the main game called “Getting A Clue.” That quest will most likely be near where Far Harbor begins.
While most players will have to wait until May 19 to visit Far Harbor, Bethesda is holding a close, invite-only beta test of the DLC. If you signed up earlier in the week, you should check your email inbox now. Bethesda announced a few hours ago that the emails have been sent for all systems.
This beta, which is being held on all Fallout 4 platforms (PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One), will help the developers polish Far Harbor into an excellent piece of DLC. It will also give players a glimpse into what looks to be the best Fallout 4 add-on so far.
There hasn’t been any comment about future invitations going out for the beta, but if you didn’t get an email for the beta test, May 19 still isn’t that far away.
Between the Far Harbor beta and the addition of Survival Mode to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, today is an exciting day for Fallout 4 players.
All three Fallout 4 DLC expansions currently available (Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, and now Far Harbor) were initially revealed together, with the promise of more DLC down the line.
Are you excited for Far Harbor? Did you get access to the closed beta? What other sorts of content would you like to be brought to Fallout 4 in the future? Let us know in the comments.
