The developers of WhatsApp are releasing new versions of this application for several mobile operating systems. Today we will talk about the latest stable WhatsApp version that has been released for Android devices.

First of all, you should know that the WhatsApp 2.16.65 is currently in STABLE version, which means that you will not need to become a BETA tester in order to download it and install it directly from the Google Play Store.

The WhatsApp 2.16.65 for Android comes with a new feature which allows you to send invitations via links, but it is good to know that this function has not been activated yet by the developers. However, we’re pretty sure that they will “silently” activate it and we will let you know when that will happen. Besides the new “inactive” feature, the new WhatsApp version comes with usual bug fixes and app improvements.

The WhatsApp 2.16.65 APK (installation) file has been increased by 43KB, it has 378 modified files and two new files (“share_invite_link.xml” and “accept_invite_link.xml”), which are related to the new feature that we’ve told you about above.

We remind you that the long rumored Video Calling feature has been spotted on a new WhatsApp BETA version for iPhone, which means that this feature will soon be released for Android devices.
