It wasn’t too long ago when it was announced that Fallout 4 will be getting some new updates. Now, a release date has been set for the post-apocalyptic game’s expansion called Far Harbor. The add-on will be available on May 19 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One for $24.99. Bethesda Game Studios, the makers of the game, has released the first trailer for the new content which shows off new sights and scares.

What do we know about Far Harbor?

  • It is the third add-on for Fallout 4. We know of three downloadable content for Fallout 4 so far, including Far Harbor. The other two are Automatron and Wasteland Workshop. Bethesda has already confirmed the arrival of Far Harbor for the early part of 2016, and now it’s been verified that it will be released on the 19th of May.
  • It is available with the Fallout 4 Season Pass. Those who got a Season Pass for $30 can get all three add-ons. Not only that, the content can be downloaded free of charge, but only if the season pass was bought before the 1st of March 2016. Prices go way up on Steam for the content when the pass was purchased after March 1.
  • It is set in a post-apocalyptic version of Bar Harbor, Maine’s popular tourist attraction. The location is the largest landmass that Bethesda has made for expansion content.

The synopsis for the game is this: there is a new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency where users are led on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Users will travel off the coast of Maine into Far Harbor, a mysterious island that has become a feral land thanks to higher levels of radiation. Game players will navigate through the conflict between synths, the children of Atom and the locals. Will the users bring about peace and if so, at what cost?

Far Harbor will feature several quests that users will take on as well as settlements to explore. The expansion will also feature “lethal” creatures and users have access to higher-level armor and weapons but no specifics have been made just yet.

The newest add-on for Fallout 4 costs $25 and is included with the $50 Fallout 4 DLC pass. Bethesda has been rolling out new content for Fallout 4 regularly: Automatron came out in March and was followed by Wasteland Workshop in April. And the company is continuing with that trend promising avid fans that they can expect more add-ons that will be coming in 2016. Those who have bought the Fallout 4 DLC pass will be able to receive those said expansions when they are officially released. Enthusiasts of the game could expect some announcements about this during Bethesda’s briefing at E3 this coming June. Although nothing has been confirmed, you just never know.

Also reason to rejoice: console versions of Fallout 4 will be getting PC-made mods really soon. The Xbox is getting it in May while the one for PlayStation 4 will be released in June.
