Grand Theft Auto is the game which made over a billion dollars in its first three days, people had been waiting for this fifth installment in the Grand Theft Auto series for quite a while, initially released on the 17th of September 2013 for the last generation of consoles, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, an year later on the 18th of November 2014 for the next generation of consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One then finally making its way over to personal computers running Microsoft’s Windows on the 14th of April 2015.
There’s no point in talking about the game if you’ve been a fan of the series, perhaps you were just a rebel child; ignoring all parental guidance warnings and playing the previous Grand Theft Auto games in your mid teens, regardless of your age though, if you’re a fan of the series then there’s not much someone can say to keep you from playing Grand Theft Auto V.
You might have noticed that instead of having a single character which you play as, you get three different characters which you can switch between during the gameplay, switching between characters is a feature unique to GTA V, there weren’t even multiple characters in the previous games; the map for GTA V is also immense, it’s much larger than pretty much every other map in the series.
You may have stumbled upon a statement on the internet about it taking half an hour to go from one edge to another if you follow all the traffic rules and guidelines.
The Reasons we love it
But that’s probably the best part about this game, you can play it as you wish, sure it doesn’t have the same extensive background story that Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout have, but that doesn’t mean that GTA V is lacking in immersion.
The game is a single player game at its core, it’s built to be played by a single person, sure Grand Theft Auto Online has potential but lets face it, the game will never be able to replicate the single player experience in a multiplayer environment.
We’re pretty sure players would’ve loved to finish the main story in co-op mode with their friends, there’s three different characters so why not let them do up to 3-player co-op? This is something that games like Saint’s Row have been able to do splendidly, allowing players the ability to enjoy Story Mode with their friends without having to change the missions by much, one player flies the helicopter while the other player controls the guns, tanks and turrets, etc.
Regardless of how everything has turned out, Grand Theft Auto V is a splendid game, could it have been better? Yes, does it have a 95% feedback rating, Yes.
