Today, Bethesda thrilled Dishonored fans by announcing the release date of Dishonored 2. Dishonored 2 will have a worldwide release for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 11.

Dishonored was a 2012 stealth action game, developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, the same publisher that handles popular series such as The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and the new Doom and Wolfenstein games.

Last E3, at its own show, Bethesda announced a sequel to Dishonored.

That exciting trailer prepared fans to return to the grim city of Dunwall. In Dishonored 2, you’ll also have a choice of protagonists. After the prologue, you can decide whether you want to play as Corvo Attano, who was the protagonist of the first game, or Emily Kaldwin. While the overall story will remain the same, each character will have a different path and perspective.

Like in the first Dishonored, you’ll be able to use stealth, combat, or a mix of the two. Your goal is to take down the “otherworldly usurper” who has stolen Emily’s throne.

Only a few details about Dishonored 2 are currently known, but more information will be available very soon, since Dishonored 2 is the cover story featured by Game Informer this month. According to Bethesda, the Game Informer cover story includes exclusive details.

A strong cast of voice actors for Dishonored 2 has also been revealed.

Finally, we’d previously theorized that Dishonored 2 would be shown at E3 2016, and it’s now been confirmed. Bethesda is once again having its own showcase this E3, which will be streamed live on June 12 at 7 PM PST / 10 PM EST, and it will include the world premiere of Dishonored 2 gameplay.

Originally, it seemed likely that the release date announcement would be saved until E3, as well, so it’s a pleasant surprise to learn this information in advance.

Dishonored was generally well-received by players, and its sequel looks like it will be an exciting follow-up. If you never played the original release of Dishonored, it was brought to the PS4 and Xbox One in August 2015. With it sequel coming in November, this is the best time to try the first game and see what it’s all about.
