There are four major carriers in the US and three of them already rolled out Marshmallow update to HTC One M8 and One M9 flagships. AT&T is not ready to release the latest firmware for these two smartphones and users will need to wait a little longer because, according to HTC’s Vice President of Product Management, Mo Versi, there are some technical problems that haven’t been fixed yet. He posted on Twitter that it could take a couple of weeks for the roll out to be approved.
AT&T subscribers who own a HTC One M8 or M9 smartphone are very frustrated because they’re stuck with Android 4.4.2 KitKat and 5.1 Lollipop, respectively, while their fellow Americans connected to networks are enjoying Android 6.0 Marshmallow and its new features. This carrier has been delaying the roll-out for a while and the news is not favorable, because HTC’s representatives have informed the owners of the two devices that the company has encountered trouble, but in a couple of weeks, the update will be finally available.
When AT&T will release Android 6.0 Marshmallow update over the air, it will take a while until it will reach all users, unless there will be found bugs or other problems that will affect the upgrade process. When contacted by CS representatives, Mr. Versi said that “more details will be announced later”.
