During 2015, there were two Nexus smartphones that Google made public – a small one LG created and the Huawei phablet, which came with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software.
It appears that just one Nexus this year is going to run the latest Android N OS – software that’s being tested by a number of Nexus owners. It’s set for launch before fall. Based on the rumors, LG is taking a bit of a break and isn’t going to focus on the development of another Nexus device, which would allow HTC and Huawei to take the stage.
The Nexus 6P is powered with the Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core processor with a 2GHz speed. However, the Nexus 5X is built with a less powerful Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset that comes with a Hexa-Core processor with a 1.82GHz speed.
Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 chipset has been installed in many smartphone manufacturers’ phones – HTC 10, LG G5 and Galaxy S7, to name a few – and the chances of it going into Google’s next line of Nexus is phone is high. That’s mainly because rumors are persisting that a Snapdragon 830 is set to be released next year. Snapdragon 823 is likely to be used only by the soon-to-be-released beasts that will cost tons of money.
Google knows that fans want an affordable decent device but offers the latest Android updates. If there’s going to be another Nexus, it’ll have weaker specs like the Snapdragon 818.
Google’s OEMs have yet to introduce the waterproofing feature to the Nexus, but they may soon change during the year. Another user-desire change is the pressure-sensitive touch display, which is already offered on the Android N and iPhone 6S. Several rumors claim HTC has included it to its list and will add it to whatever Google-manufactured Nexus model.
A number of popular smartphones use the 12MP sensor that have an aperture of f/2.0, 1.55um pixel size, and offers features like dual-tone LED flash and laser autofocus. It’s thought that the latest Nexus is going to have a wider aperture camera.
