HTC is preparing to release its HTC One S9 and HTC 10 in May 2016. The first one is a mid-range which looks identical to the One M9, while the other is the new flagship which ditched the “One” branding”. Today we’re going to compare these two handsets and let you decide which one of them suits your needs better.


The HTC One S9 measures 144.6×69.7×10.1mm and weights 158 grams. Likewise the One M9, it has a curved aluminum body with two lines on the back, but it’s 0.5mm thicker, although the battery has the same capacity. On the other hand, the HTC 10 is slimmer and heavier, as it measures 145.9×71.9x9mm and weights 161 grams. It has a full metal body as well, but with chamfered edges.


The HTC One S9 has a Super LCD display of 5-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 441 ppi. The HTC 10 has a bigger Super LCD5 display of 5.2-inch that supports a higher resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 565 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The HTC One S9 features a Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset, an octa-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 2.0GHz, a PowerVR G6200 graphics card and 2GB of RAM. The HTC 10 has a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset, a quad-core processor formed from a quad-core Kryo processor clocked at 1.6GHz and a quad-core Kryo processor clocked at 2.15GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics card and 4GB of RAM.


The HTC One S9 comes in an internal storage variant of 16GB, while the HTC 10 will be released in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB. You will be able to expand the storage on both devices up to 200GB using a microSD card.


The HTC One S9 sports a primary camera of 13MP that features dual-LED flash, OIS, autofocus, touch focus, panorama, HDR, face detection, geo-tagging and a secondary camera of 4MP. The HTC 10 has a primary camera of 12MP with dual-LED flash, laser autofocus, OIS, geo-tagging, panorama, HDR, face detection, touch focus and a secondary camera of 5MP.


Both devices come with non-removable batteries, but the HTC One S9 has a smaller one of 2840 mAh that should last as long as the 3000 mAh battery of the HTC 10.
