The Huawei Honor 7 has been released back in July 2015, while the Hauwei Honor V8 is a phablet that’s expected to be announced on May 10 and will be sold for $308. Today we will compare these two handsets and let you decide if you want to purchase the Huawei Honor 7 or you’ll wait for the Huawei Honor V8 to be released.

Designs

The Huawei Honor 7 measures 143.2×71.9×8.5mm and weights 157 grams. The device has a full metal body with subtle horizontal strips on the back, at the top and bottom. The rear camera is located on the top center and has a fingerprint scanner below. On the other hand, the Huawei Honor V8 is slimmer and heavier, as it measures 157×77.6×7.8mm and weights 170 grams. Likewise its sibling, it has an all-metal design, but it has a dual-camera setup in the upper left corner, similar to that of the Huawei P9 flagship.



Displays

The Huawei Honor 7 comes with an IPS-NEO LCD display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 424 ppi. The Huawei Honor V8 has a larger IPS-NEO LCD display of 5.7-inch with the same resolution, but which offers a lower pixel density of 386 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Huawei Honor 7 has a HiSilicon Kirin 935 chipset, an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.5GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 2.2GHz, a Mali-T628 MP4 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Huawei Honor V8 features a newer and more advanced HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset, an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.8GHz and a quad-core Cortex A72 CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics card and 4GB of RAM.

Storages

The Huawei Honor 7 has been released in three internal storage variants of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, while the Huawei Honor V8 will have an internal memory of 32GB. However, both devices offer a microSD card slot for expanding the storage up to 128GB.

Cameras

The Huawei Honor 7 sports a primary camera of 20MP that supports phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash, face detection, geo-tagging, touch focus, panorama, HDR and a secondary camera of 8MP The Huawei Honor V8 has a dual-primary camera of 12MP with features such as dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR, panorama, face detection and a secondary camera of 8MP.

Batteries

Both devices come with non-removable batteries, but the Honor 7 has a smaller one with a capacity of 3100 mAh, while the phablet is powered by a 3400 mAh battery.
