After Facebook purchased WhatsApp, the number of the app’s users reached 1 billion at the beginning of this year, which makes it one of the most popular messaging apps in the world. It’s easy to use and the best part is that it can be used on all operating systems, provided you install the OS’s needed WhatsApp version, of course. All in all, you can admit that it is a pretty good platform for chatting with your friends, no matter where they are located.

Now, because a WhatsApp update is due in a few months, rumors have started circulating on the internet about the new features it may have. One of them is the video calling feature for iOS that the users have asked for for months. It’s supposed to be a feature similar to Skype that would allow users to create a video group which could include up to 25 people.

How did the rumor of a WhatsApp iOS video call feature start you may ask? Well, there was a survey of the feature on the internet and it looked like it was posted by WhatsApp, which made the fans believe it was the upcoming update.

But if this is indeed true, WhatsApp might become the best mobile chatting app there is, especially that now it can be installed for free. Not that it was THAT expensive before, with a subscription fee on $0.99 per year. But now, the only thing you could need to stay in touch with your friends cheaply is your internet connection. If you find a WiFi, all the better.

Meanwhile, we are looking forward to an official announcement from WhatsApp, to let us know what is true and what not.
