Steam is now hosting the 1.5 beta update for Fallout 4, PC edition, which comes with new items and a fixed map for all players.

Bethesda is already releasing a patch that is meant to support the next DLC, the Far Harbor, which is going to be the third installment in Fallout 4’s add-ons, after Automatron and Wasteland Workshop. The DLC will also have an updated Survival Mode, which was designed based on user’s wishes and complaints.

In other words, the new Survival difficulty is like the old one in many aspects, except improved. Meaning that it will include, among many other features, no fast travel, increased lethality, tiredness, a few diseases, even more dangerous situations and saving only when the players are asleep.

Bethesda’s developers also announced that they will launch a Creation Kit and new Mods from to the 1.5 Steam beta really soon. Right now, both features are in closed beta.

In case of PS4 and Xbox One, don’t fret because they will receive the update’’in the coming weeks”, Survival Mode included. The two consoles will also get the Mods, but in the form of upcoming updates, so it may take a while longer for that.

The 1.5 update includes, besides the aforementioned Survival Mode, bug fixes like the problem with distance checking of the Robotics Expert or Ada’s failure to travel to a particular settlement and improved stability.

If you want to get this update, and we don’t see why you wouldn’t, all you have to do is log in to your Steam account, got o your library, find Fallout 4, right click on it and choose settings, select Betas and you will get a drop-down menu from which you will have to choose the Beta, then click OK. After the game is updated, it will change its name to Fallout 4 [Beta] in your Library.
