A new WhatsApp 2.16.40 BETA version has been released for Android devices. The new version of the application comes with a Preview option in the gallery wallpapers and this means that you will be able to set a wallpaper for every single WhatsApp chat by using the preview gallery. In order to do this, head to your WhatsApp Settings->Chats->Wallpaper->Gallery and select the image that you want to use as wallpaper.

We can say that the new WhatsApp 2.16.40 installation file has been increased by only 9KB, but we’ve noticed over 250 modified files which are related to notifications, conversations and more. In addition, a new gallery_wallpaper_preview.xml has been added, which is related to the new Wallpapers function.

Unfortunately, the developers haven’t revealed any information about the rumored Video Calling feature that the WhatsApp application will most likely receive sometime in the near future.
